Folks, this is the club constitution that was drafted by the Club Directors in our first Director's meeting on February 20, 2007.
This was passed by Club Directors 2007 03 15 and we'll be including this in our Incorporation Application.
BLUE SKY RIDERS
CONSTITUTION
1) Name and Purpose
A. The name of the club shall be Blue Sky Riders.
B. The purpose of the club is to join riders interested in off-road motorcycling in good fellowship and responsible sportsmanship.
2) Membership and Dues
A. Membership is open to anyone interested in the purpose of the club, subject to approval of the executive, who has paid the correct dues and who satisfies the following requirements.
B. The classes of membership shall be determined from time to time and constituted in the bylaws by the executive.
3) Fiscal Year
The fiscal year shall be determined by the executive and constituted in the bylaws.
4) Communication
A. Communication between the membership and executive is done either through the Members Only forum or by e-mail.
1. Communication is through the Blue Sky Riders website forum or e-mail access. These are open to Members and non-members. Use of the mailing list and forum is outlined in the bylaws.
2. Information intended for members only is posted in the Members Only forum
3. It is the member’s responsibility to keep their email address current with the club executive.
4. Members who have not renewed their membership by May 1 will have their names removed from the Members Only forum.
B. Annual meetings shall be soon as possible after the end of the club fiscal year and notices of such shall be e-mailed at least 30 days before the meeting. The notice must include the items intended by the executive to be on the agenda and all proper proposals for amending the constitution.
C. Executives shall meet whenever they see fit for the purpose of running the club.
5) Executive
A. The membership shall elect five people to form the executive of the club. The five elected shall determine which duties they will assume during their term of office.
B. The term of office shall be one year.
C. Elections to the executive of the club shall be at the Annual General Meeting by secret ballot and written proxy.
D. The executive may appoint and empower a committee chairperson from the membership to advance the work of the club.
6) Amendments to the Constitution
The Constitution may be amended only at an Annual General Meeting with a two-thirds majority vote of the membership present. |
