It's been a month since our first meeting and we've been very busy as a director team for Ontario's newest club for off road riders, The Blue Sky Riders.
We've created a website http://www.blueskyriders.com where you can read and post messages to your hearts content about riding.
Go to the website, have a look around, register and post. There's more info being added every day and as more and more people start posting there, we can use the site for planning and advertising activities and rides once the season is upon us.
Our next meeting is on Tuesday, March 20 at 6:30 PM at the North Bay Public Library
A poster is attached...please feel free to print and post wherever you think off road motorcyclists may gather.
Everyone is welcome to come to our meeting! Bring your friends!
We've got lots to talk about...
Boring administrative stuff, like
* Meet the Club Directors - Doug Bies, President, Peter Buffet, Vice President, Mike Bergeron, Treasurer, Dale Harrison, Secretary, Peter Sheppard, Director
* Affiliation with OFTR & MCC + MCC Insurance
* Club Bylaws, Constitution and Riders Code of Conduct
* Our application for incorporation as a non-profit Ontario Corporation
* How we're going to run the finances of the club, bank account
Once we've got that out of the way...we'd like to talk about fun stuff
* Events - we can begin to plan...
o Local, regular events like Tuesday night dual sporter rides or Trail Rides every other Saturday morning, etc.
o Local special events like participating in the Papa Joe, or organizing a day at VMUTS in Mattawa, etc
o Local competitive events
o Events away, like attending some of the OFTR trail ride series in other locales
* Stewardship
o What's going on in other parts of the province (why we need to protect our rights to ride)
o What can we do to help map, build and maintain the trail network up here ?
o What can we do to promote the image of responsible off-road motorcycling ?
o What can we do to promote our sport with young people ?
There's probably stuff that I've forgotten, but that's going to be plenty to take us to @ 8:15.
Hope to see you all there!
Thanks
Doug Bies |
