I used to canoe a lot back 100 years ago when I was young. back in high school, my buddies and I used to do Algonquin Park a lot, which of course was 'way up north' to us kids growing up in Oshawa.
Now that my son is 10, we started canoeing last year and did a few afternoon trips out on the Mattawa River System. We love it and want to get out often this year.
I just put a deposit down on a used canoe on Sunday, and I'll be picking it up over the next month or so. My son and I can't wait to get out on the lakes in May...something else we can do together besides riding two-up together on the back roads.
Here's my other ride, a 16' Wolverine from Taiga Endeavors in Cobalt, ON. They make their canoes in an old white church right on the main drag in Cobalt.
